Fuel Infrastructure Technology

Monitor Remote Fuel Infrastructure
Without Cell Coverage

ZentraFuel uses multi-transport mesh networking to relay sensor data from pipelines, tanks, and fuel stations in areas with no cellular or internet service. Track supply chains with tamper-proof records. Coordinate fuel distribution during emergencies.

The Problem

The fuel industry loses billions to blind spots,
theft, and disaster chaos every year.

$133B

Global Fuel Theft Annually

Fuel disappears between refinery and pump. Siphoning from pipelines, short deliveries to stations, and adulteration go undetected because there's no continuous chain of custody verification.

40%

Of Pipeline Miles Lack Monitoring

Traditional SCADA systems require cellular or satellite connectivity. Remote pipelines, tank farms, and rural fuel depots sit in coverage dead zones with no real-time data.

72 hrs

Average Fuel Chaos After Disasters

After hurricanes and grid failures, nobody knows which stations have fuel and power. Panic buying and misallocation waste critical supplies while communities go without.

Three Solutions for Three Industry Pain Points

Each built on the same mesh networking infrastructure -- devices relay data node-to-node across Bluetooth, Wi-Fi Direct, LoRa, and radio where traditional networks can't reach.

1

Remote Infrastructure Monitoring

IoT sensors on pipelines, storage tanks, and pump stations relay readings through a mesh network that works without cellular coverage.

  • Tank level, pressure, temperature, flow rate
  • Automatic anomaly detection: leaks, theft, pressure spikes
  • Alerts propagate through the mesh even when internet is down
  • Sensor data hashed and recorded in an immutable audit trail
  • Ranges: Bluetooth 300ft, Wi-Fi 600ft, LoRa 10+ miles, Radio 100+ miles
2

Supply Chain Verification

Every transfer from refinery to truck to station is recorded with volume measurements at each checkpoint. Discrepancies are flagged automatically.

  • Fuel batch tracking from source to destination
  • IoT flow meters report volume at transfer points via mesh
  • Auto-flags when measured volume loss exceeds 2%
  • QR and NFC scanning for manual checkpoint verification
  • Tamper-proof records that satisfy audit and compliance requirements
3

Emergency Fuel Coordination

During disasters, station operators broadcast fuel availability through the mesh. No cell towers or internet required. Response teams see real-time fuel availability.

  • Station status: operational, low fuel, empty, no power
  • Works entirely off-grid via mesh relay (no internet needed)
  • Priority message routing for fuel status updates
  • Real-time map of operational fuel stations
  • Compatible with existing emergency management workflows

How ZentraFuel Works

Sensors connect to nearby mesh nodes. Data hops node-to-node until it reaches an internet-connected gateway or is stored locally for retrieval.

Deploy Mesh Nodes

Place nodes at monitoring sites. Each node communicates via Bluetooth (300ft), Wi-Fi Direct (600ft), LoRa (10+ miles), or radio (100+ miles).

Connect Sensors

Attach IoT sensors for tank level, pressure, temperature, and flow rate. Sensors feed data to the nearest mesh node automatically.

Data Relays Across Mesh

Readings hop node-to-node across the mesh until reaching a gateway with internet. In fully off-grid scenarios, data is stored and forwarded when connectivity returns.

Immutable Record

Sensor readings are hashed (SHA-256) and recorded in a tamper-proof ledger. Auditors and regulators can verify no data was altered after the fact.

ZentraFuel vs. Traditional SCADA

Purpose-built for fuel infrastructure in areas where traditional monitoring falls short.

Capability Traditional SCADA ZentraFuel
Works without cell coverage Requires cellular or satellite Yes -- mesh relay up to 100+ miles
Works during power outages Requires grid power or backup Yes -- battery-powered nodes
Tamper-proof data records Database records can be altered Yes -- SHA-256 hashed, immutable ledger
Supply chain tracking Separate system required Built-in batch tracking with QR/NFC
Emergency coordination Not designed for disasters Off-grid station status broadcasting
Deployment time Weeks to months Hours -- place nodes and go
Upfront hardware cost $10,000 -- $50,000+ per site Under $500 per node
Monthly connectivity fees $50 -- $200/mo per site (cellular/sat) $0 -- mesh is peer-to-peer
